In a sports world dominated by balls, Frisbeediscs come floating in like a breath of fresh air. Catching, throwing, and running are all integrated into this active sport, where the fun trumps the workout.

Frisbee play can be enjoyed in a simple game of catch between two people or involve teams in several well known games: Ultimate Frisbee is a cross between soccer, basketball and American football; Disc Golf is similar to “ball golf” but played with a Frisbee and “targets” instead of holes.

Our Disc Skills Curriculum, which is endorsed by The Ultimate Players Association and meets national Physical Education Standards, teaches elementary and middle-school students a variety of disc skills. They learn to comfortably throw and catch a disc in a variety of ways, including the art of angles and spins. The curriculum prepares them for the games of Disc Golf and Ultimate Frisbee.

In addition to being aerobic, dynamic, and fun, Ultimate Frisbee also builds character as the game is governed by the “Spirit of the Game.” Even at the highest levels of competitive Ultimate (every year there are hundreds of tournaments regionally, nationally, and then a world competition), the game is officiated by the players themselves, based on sportsmanship principles called “Spirit of the Game.”

Whenever possible, teachers who implement the curriculum are connected with Ultimate Players in their community to do demos and assist in working with the kids.
